Jessica Perez

Clinical Director/Psychotherapist

Jessica Perez, MSW, LCSW is a licensed Clinical Social Worker and Bridgepoint’s Clinical Director. Jessica received her Master’s degree in Social Work from The University of Georgia. Jessica began her work in the field in 2011 where she volunteered for Camp Magik, a grief camp for children experiencing the loss of a parent or sibling. Inspired by her experience, Jessica returned to school to complete her degree to help others. During her Master’s training, Jessica completed a practicum at Positive Impact Health Centers– providing individual, and group therapy for individuals diagnosed with HIV. Jessica has worked in a variety of settings as a therapist. She began her career at Gwinnett County Detention Center working with inmates to create positive changes in their lives and providing resources for those approaching re-entry. Jessica went on to work in crisis stabilization at a local psychiatric hospital- later transitioning to be the Lead therapist for the Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program. During her tenure in this position, she had the honor of working alongside Dr. Patel and Dr. Kantamneni, the founders of Bridgepoint. Jessica completed her clinical supervision with a well-known Somatic Attachment therapist, which helped shape Jessica’s practice.

Aside from her leadership duties at Bridgepoint, Jessica is also seeing patients for therapy. Jessica has extensive training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, integrative wellness, and polyvagal interventions. Jessica practices from an Attachment Theory perspective, assisting patients in noticing how early attachment wounds can impact one’s inner messaging. Jessica’s approach to mental wellness combines examining one’s thoughts, feelings and behavior and learning to notice the nervous system’s reaction in the body. Aiding patients’ ability to regulate their nervous system helps to improve mood, cognitive functioning, decision-making abilities, and relationships. Jessica’s demeanor is direct, validating, and warm- offering a nonjudgmental and safe space for healing.

Jessica works with adolescents and adults, specializing in trauma, grief, mood disorders, and life transitions. Jessica is in-network with most commercial insurances: Aetna, Cigna, Humana, United Healthcare/Optum, PHCS, and will begin accepting BCBS in late January 2024.
